Michigan NOW Mourns the Loss of
Dr. Claire Colman
 

     Michigan NOW is honored to have had Claire Colman as a leader and champion for the human and civil rights of women in Michigan and indeed around the world.

Claire worked tirelessly for women in her work for Michigan NOW . Not just as a member but as an Executive Board Leader and PAC Board Administrator.

Claire spent many hours on the phone, at meetings not just for the state organization but in her work as our PAC administrator, where she shined. She would be all around the metro area at various meetings, interviewing candidates, raising money and helping to keep our web site visible. Claire offered to help in every way possible. It should be noted that Claire had done all this work while struggling with serious health issues. She even continued after her near fatal car accident. She had so much to give and willingly shared her knowledge, experience and excitement with us.

Claire left her footprint on Michigan NOW as an activist, leader, mentor, sister and friend. I can honestly say, Claire Colman, left our world a better place. She touched Michigan NOW in so many ways that her presence will always be visible. Claire has left Michigan NOW a better organization ,for sharing her leadership, knowledge and the gift of her life with us. We will miss her dearly.

Annual State Conference April 17, 2010 at U of M Dearborn.
