Michigan Democratic Party
The Michigan Democratic Party offers in-person trainings
focused on leadership and issues related to campaigning for state House and
Senate candidates and officers of local parties, clubs and caucuses. The Party
also offers online trainings to candidates interested in running in the state.
Trainings are usually scheduled about a month in advance, with information
posted online or available from the Party office.
Camp Millie is also available and sponsored by the Justice
Caucus, more information available from the party.

Michigan Farm Bureau
The Michigan Farm Bureau offers a Campaign Management
Workshop for candidates for public office, their spouses and campaign managers,
as well as prospective candidates and campaign managers considering races in
future cycles. The two-day training uses content developed by the American Farm
Bureau with input from political consultants and staff of both national
political parties. Program curriculum is applicable to local, state and national
political races.

Michigan Federation of Democratic Women
The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) supports
the inclusion of women’s voices in the Democratic Party. With 32 chapters
nationwide, the NFDW promotes Democratic Party goals and candidates and works to
unite women party members behind them. NFDW chapters recognize potential women
candidates and encourage their candidacies for office. Members attend
meetings, organize educational and political events, volunteer for campaigns,
and support candidates for office.

Michigan Political Leadership Program
The Michigan Political Leadership Program (MPLP) at Michigan
State University (MSU) recruits, trains, and inspires current and future public
policy leaders. In a multi-partisan learning environment, twenty-four
individuals from across the state engage in a ten-month weekend program that
incorporates practical politics, public policy analysis and process, personal
leadership development, and effective governance.

The White House Project
Debate Boot Camp is a daylong in-depth training offered by
the White House Project on how to research an issue, craft an argument and
persuasively articulate, promote and defend a position to a variety of
audiences, including in person and on camera, through narrative storytelling and
peer Go Lead.
Go Lead sessions, led by local experts in coalition with community partners on relevant and current issues, develop sustained leadership through skill building sessions such as public speaking, lobbying, and negotiation. Go Lead trainings are held throughout the country, with an upcoming training schedule available online. feedback. The Women Officials' Network
Founded in 1997, the Women Officials' Network (WON) is a
non-partisan organization dedicated to women's leadership at all levels of
government. Since 2000, WON has offered two workshops biennially to encourage
women to run for office: "Me? Run for Office?" and "Money, Organization, and
Media: The Nuts & Bolts of Running for Public Office." WON has expanded their
campaign-training work by teaming up with organizations like the League of Women
Voters and the Michigan Women's Commission to provide similar workshops for
women. In addition to training women to run for office, WON gathers women public
officials for events and networking, and hosts speakers and panels regarding
women's role in government and leadership.
