Emily Reynolds, Young Feminist Program Coordinator from Washington D.C. met with local activists to discuss working with Young Feminists. The feminist dialogues during the weekend of the MI NOW Conference was a mixture of policy, activism,
history, story telling, and so much more.
All of the
feminists present were exposed to a different
generation's viewpoint with both groups feeling a
sense of encouragement from the other. The
sisterhood that Jacquie Steingold spoke about was
truly at the forefront of our sessions.
During the weekend of the MI NOW State
Conference many exciting gatherings occurred. All
of them had an element of brainstorming about the
future of MI NOW and resulted in the creation of a
Young Feminist Task Force. The idea of a Young Feminist task force come out of feminist dialouges facililtated by Emily Reynolds. Approved a few weeks later at the SCC meeting, the Task Force is regularly meeting and already planning social, educational, activist, and fundraising events!
