Let's Get Out the Vote in Pontiac!

The Oakland County Chapter of NOW is pleased to announce the opening of an office to help GET OUT THE VOTE. Rebecca Malotke serves as the supervisor and she has gotten great help from Elaine Franklin who has worked tirelessly to engage us in a getting out the vote in Pontiac. Elaine and Linda Varonich spoke about NOW's goal and wishes at the Welcome Church in Pontiac on October 1, 2006. This election is vital to county, the state and the U.S. If Proposal 2 passes it will hurt women and people of color. It will also damage Michigan's image in the country. Others could easily see it as bigotry, hurting our effort to bring in many new businesses and diversify our economy just as it hurts our efforts to diversify our community.

We are committed to defeating Proposal 2 known as the Michigan Civil Rights (wrong) Amendment Please join us and volunteer!  You can find us at:
