A Tribute to Zena Biocca
We wish to thank our Michigan State NOW President, Zena Biocca, for her outstanding dedication to NOW, and to Michigan women. Zena was elected state president on March 12, 2005, and since then, she has worked tirelessly to strengthen Michigan NOW and the local chapters.
Zena has testified powerfully before the state legislature on issues of concern to NOW. She has supported every opportunity for NOW to reach out to like-minded organizations by speaking and tabling at other groups’ events.
Whether it’s participating at National NOW conferences or attending major events like the “March for Women’s Lives” in Washington D.C., Zena commits her full feminist zeal and dedication. Michigan NOW has benefited from Zena’s broad range of experience, including activism in North Carolina NOW, Florida NOW, and other organizations.
Zena has generously offered her time, her support, and even her home to raise funds for NOW and to raise consciousness about NOW and issues important to feminists. We are grateful to Zena for all her hard work in supporting women’s rights, and look forward to continuing to work with Zena towards our common goals.
